The CASTELLO DUCALE S.r.l. cultivates about 6 hectares of vineyards all from organic agriculture (Ccpb Control Body) grown espalier on the hills of Castel Campagnano, in the caiatino area and in the lands of Sannio.
The vineyards fall into the I.G.P. Terre del Volturno and in the D.O.P. Sannio. Red berried includes Aglianico, Pallagrello Nero and Casavecchia; white berry Pallagrello Bianco and Falanghina.
The grapes are harvested by hand in boxes and are vinified in the cellar during the day. Fermentation and storage take place in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature for thirty days. The aging takes place in new oak barrels in the historic barrel room for a period of 6 – 12 months. The company reserve is aged in the bottle for another 6 months.

Our wines are all produced and bottled at the origin in a complete chain. We do not buy grapes, nor must, nor bottle wines if we do not know the history of each single grape.

Particularly valuable is the reproduction of the “Vigna del Ventaglio”, a vineyard commissioned by Ferdinand IV of Bourbon in 1700 and realized by the Italian engineer and architect Luigi Vanvitelli. The plan is semicircle shaped, divided into 9 rays and 10 areas, located on the mountain near Reggia of Caserta.
Each sector contained a grape variety of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, including the grape variety Pallagrello ancient Piedimonte.

The Winery Castello Ducale is managed by the CASTELLO DUCALE S.r.l. estate and rears 6 vineyards hectares, betweeen Castel Campagnano (Caserta) and Benevento district, in Campania. The vineyards are included in I.G.P. Terre del Volturno areas, and in D.O.P. area Sannio.
The Grapes are harvested by hand in boxes and vinified in the cellar during the same day. The fermentation and storage occur in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. The refinement occurs in new oak barrels in the cellars of the Castle for 6 – 12 months, where the temperature is at 13°C throughout the year. The reserve is also aged in the bottle for other 6 months. The packaging system is done with filling and labeling automatic machines, with a numerical lots control.
